House Votes 320-91 to Ban Christian Beliefs in America

Holy Bible, cross and notebook on wooden table

The House of Representatives banned the New Testament in America on Thursday night. The vote wasn’t even close: 320-91. Many of us never thought that we would live to see a day when the founding faith of America is banned by elected officials.

Then again, as wonky as some of our recent elections have been maybe they’re not “elected” in the sense that we think they are.

The only question now is whether enough Americans will speak out to the US Senate in time to stop HR 6090 from passing.

This is the single worst piece of legislation that has ever been passed by the House of Representatives. Lest you think we’re exaggerating, bear with us as we share three quick passages from the New Testament with you.

Acts 4:10

Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him this man is standing before you well.

1 Thessalonians 2:14-16

For you, brethren, became imitators of the churches of God in Christ Jesus which are in Judea; for you suffered the same things from your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and displease God and oppose all men by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they may be saved—so as always to fill up the measure of their sins.

Acts 3:14-15

You denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, and killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.

If HR 6090 were to become the law of the land, I would have committed three felony “hate” crimes by sharing those passages from the New Testament with you. The FBI could come to my house and arrest me right now. Here’s why.

HR 6090 criminalizes antisemitism, which is neither a sin nor a crime. They passed this in response to the dopey college protests going on right now.

Jewish people are already protected from acts of discrimination under current law. You cannot discriminate against a Jewish person in employment, housing, or any of the other areas where America protects all of our people from discrimination under title VI of the Civil Rights Act.

What HR 6090 does is it expands the definition of antisemitism. The legislation specifically gives the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) the authority to determine what is or is not antisemitism, based on that body’s current feelings. For those who are unfamiliar with the IHRA, it is a United Nations-affiliated body in Europe. The House of Representatives just voted 320-91 to grant a foreign body control over Americans’ public speech.

If you go to the IHRA’s website, it states that antisemitism is not just disliking Jewish people or criticizing Israel’s government. There are also “contemporary examples of antisemitism”—examples under which the definition of antisemitism is always changing. One of those contemporary examples of antisemitism is “claims of Jews killing Jesus.”

The three verses above all state that the Jews killed Jesus Christ. It is a historical fact that this happened, whether you’re a Christian or not. We have more extant evidence from the ancient world that the Jews killed Jesus than we have proving the existence of Julius Caesar. But it will become a felony hate crime to publicly state this historical fact if HR 6090 becomes law.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was one of the 90 members of Congress who voted against it. He also says the bill outlaws Christianity in America:

“Antisemitism is wrong, but this legislation is written without regard for the Constitution, common sense, or even the common understanding of the meaning of words. The Gospel itself would meet the definition of antisemitism under the terms of this bill!”

Amazingly, we haven’t seen any coverage of this bill on any conservative news station or website at this point. Breitbart, Gateway Pundit, Daily Caller—they’ve all gone radio silent on the fact that Congress just voted to ban Christianity.

The bill also makes it a federal hate crime for you to criticize one specific foreign government, which is Israel. It should go without saying that as Americans, we have the right to criticize foreign governments in whatever way we choose—because we are Americans and that is our birthright. This legislation violates our right to free speech and freedom of religion. The government doesn’t get to tell us that we cannot profess our nation’s founding faith. There is no Jewish exception in the Bill of Rights. Jews are protected under the same anti-discrimination laws as the rest of us, so this legislation is completely unnecessary.

Please contact your US Senators and tell them you are opposed to banning Christianity in America. Tell them to vote “No” on HR 6090, the so-called “Antisemitism Awareness Act.”

You can reach your Senators by calling the switchboard at the US Capitol at (202) 224-3121.
