Last week, we learned from Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) that the Biden regime has been engaged in a major military cover-up in Africa. An airbase in Niger used to launch drone strikes and conduct reconnaissance against Al Qaida and ISIS is now surrounded by hostile troops.

Diplomatic overflights have been canceled, so the 1,100 soldiers there can’t rotate out when their deployments end. They’re trapped. The Biden regime can’t even get medicine or clean drinking water to them.

The end result of this will be another humiliating retreat and defeat for the US military, under a secret deal that Biden has cut with the military terrorists controlling Niger.

Last year, Biden’s incompetent Secretary of State Tony Blinken traveled to Niger and declared it to be the centerpiece of US strategy in Africa against terrorist groups. It was a model of cooperation! A couple of months after Blinken left, a general who was trained by the US military staged a coup and took over. Niger is now under the control of his military junta.

While the media covered the coup last year, it was downplayed as just one of those things that happens in Africa from time to time. It wasn’t characterized as yet another Biden foreign policy failure. Now that the situation has turned into another Afghanistan withdrawal-style humiliation for America, the media isn’t covering this story at all. We wouldn’t even know about it if Rep. Gaetz hadn’t blown the whistle on the scandal.

Joe Biden abandoned Afghanistan by having the troops shut off the electricity at Bagram Air Base in the middle of the night and sneaking away like cowards. The Taliban quickly took control of the base and immediately released thousands of terrorists held in its prison. One of those newly freed jihadis strapped on an explosive vest and killed 13 US servicemembers and 173 Afghan civilians outside the Kabul Airport.

Biden left behind $80 billion worth of sophisticated US military equipment, making the Taliban the fifth most expensively armed military in the world (behind only the US, China, Russia, and India). It was the most humiliating American foreign policy failure since the Fall of Saigon.

Part of the problem that caused this is the crisis of competence in the Biden regime. We no longer have a meritocracy in the US military, at the State Department, or even in Joe Biden’s cabinet. Biden appoints people based on their weird sex lives or skin color, rather than ability. Biden’s Secretary of the Army, Christine Wormuth, a policy wonk with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

Wormuth has never served in any branch of the military. Joe Biden made her his Secretary of the Army, and the Senate approved her appointment for some reason, just so Joe Biden could say that he appointed some woman to be the first woman Secretary of the Army. When Matt Gaetz confronted her about the deteriorating situation in Niger during a committee hearing last week, Wormuth didn’t even realize that the troops couldn’t get drinking water or medicine, or that they were surrounded by hostile forces.

We also learned just this week that Biden is going to begin court martialing any soldiers who don’t use the proper pronouns when addressing their transgender commanders. No normal, mentally healthy American man would ever want to serve in this “military.”

The Biden regime has now struck a deal with the Niger junta to get the troops out. The junta will allow the 1,100 soldiers to leave, so long as Biden hands over the keys to the drone airbase near the capital city of Niamey. Joe Biden has agreed to this. He has to turn over the drone base to get the soldiers out without starting yet another war.

Biden has also agreed to shut down a second drone base near the city of Agadez and withdraw the roughly 650 troops stationed there. An American delegation is headed to Niger this week to formalize the retreat.
