Shortly after President Donald Trump won the 2024 election, California’s Governor Gavin Newsom (D) vowed to “Trump-proof” the state and form a “resistance” against all-things MAGA.

Just three months later, he’s begging President Trump to give him $40 billion—what he didn’t tell him it was for was his Anti-Trump agenda.

Governor Newsom penned a letter to Congress asking for the taxpayers to give his failed state $40 billion in funding for “fire relief” after their idiotic policies led to wildfires ripping through large swaths of Los Angeles – just weeks after okaying $50 million in spending to fight the Trump administration on several key issues.

One $25 million bill by California lawmakers provides legal help for illegal aliens; another $25 million is to fight other Trump policies in court.

And the funny part is that while Governor Newsom is pleading for this massive injection of taxpayer funds into this state he is also demanding there be NO OVERSIGHT into how the money is spent.

In his 14-page letter, Governor Newsom issues some vague “promises” saying, “Make no mistake, Los Angeles will use this money wisely. California will ensure that funds will serve individuals, communities, property owners, and businesses that suffered losses from these deadly fires.”

The Democrat governor made ZERO concessions to the federal government in exchange for these funds. He did not agree to any changes in forest management, water management, emergency services, and he certainly didn’t mention his state’s $50 million anti-Trump fund.

Governor Newsom’s strategy to get federal funds is basically telling the federal to just “trust him” and take him at his word that he will use the money for good and not evil… but does ANYBODY really trust this guy?

Hell, even Californian’s don’t trust this plastic politician.

What Newsom is REALLY doing here, is trying to bait the Trump-led federal government into juicing up his war-chest to help him fight the Trump administration.

Sure, maybe SOME of that money would go towards actual fire relief, but why else would he refuse to allow oversight unless he had some sinister ulterior motives for the money?

This guy and his fellow Democrats couldn’t CARE LESS about the residents of the state who suffered at the hands of the fires. The only thing they want to use their power for is stopping Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda.

Serving as proof of that, the $50 million anti-Trump fund was approved while Los Angeles WAS STILL ON FIRE. Instead of spending that money on fire relief, or even taking the time to decide how they could best serve the fire victims, Newsom and his goons were focused on their war against President Trump while residents lost their homes and all of their belongings.

Newsom has been rather clear about his intentions to use the ultra-liberal state to fight Trump. At one point he said, “We are positioned, if necessary, to be the tip of the spear of the resistance.”

California as a state is dirt-poor. They are facing a budget deficit of $68 billion. If Newsom is willing to spend what is equivalent to the states’ last pennies on fighting President Trump – what do you think he’s going to do if we suddenly give him $40 billion more to work with?

Keep that money far, far away from this anti-American governor!
