Biden’s New Climate Rule Will Kill Jobs and Raise Energy Prices on Americans

Biden’s radicalized Environmental Protection Agency has a new proposal which seeks to force power plants to DRASTICALLY cut down on their carbon emissions, or shut down completely – and critics are warning it will be a “job killer!”

Several members of Congress and energy groups have teamed up to sound the alarm about not only what this could do to the energy industry, but to the utility prices Americans have to pay.

West Virginia Sen. Shelly Moore Capito (R) said after the EPA officially announced the new rule that the agency’s plan is the “most blatant attempt yet to close down power plants and kill American energy jobs.”

Capito’s fellow West Virginia Senator, Joe Manchin (D), vowed to withhold confirmation support for any of President Biden’s nominees to the EPA in response to the rule change.

Manchin, chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, has also called the plan part of fellow Democrat Biden’s “radical climate agenda … designed to kill the fossil industry by a thousand cuts.”

And that has been Biden’s plan from the start – to KILL the fossil fuel industry no matter how badly it hurts the American people and our economy.

Manchin and Capito’s state economy is especially reliant on the fossil fuel industry and this new plan would essentially NUKE that economy.

According to a recent economy, as of 2021 mining and coal-fired power generation had a $14 billion impact on West Virginia’s economy. And it found the state’s mining industry alone spends over $2.1 billion on wages and that coal operators generated roughly $9.1 billion in economic activity in 2019.

Capito has vowed to formally challenge the EPA’s new rule – labeling it as an “illegal overreach.”

She intends to use the Congressional Review Act to try to overturn what she calls the “illegal Clean Power Plan.”

Capito further notes that the Supreme Court has already overturned a similar EPA attempt, “but not before it devastated communities in West Virginia and across the country!”

Wyoming GOP Sen. John Barrasso confirmed such was the case and then added that the Supreme Court set the precedent that only CONGRESS can “create environmental policy.”

This would suggest that practically every single change Joe Biden has made under the guise of eliminating climate change has been ILLEGAL and should be reversed IMMEDIATELY!

Energy advocacy group Power The Future said the EPA rules, will be a “job killer.”

“Joe Biden is hell bent on finishing the war on coal that Barack Obama launched more than a decade ago, ignoring Congress, the Supreme Court and reality in the process,” said group President Daniel Turner. “Good luck selling this job killer in states like West Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania that rely on the industries Biden is seeking to destroy.”

Meanwhile, the U.S. Oil & Gas Association said these regulations are “intentionally designed to make US energy more expensive.”

While Joe Biden is having the EPA attack America’s energy industry on his behalf, he is also forcing hard working people out of their jobs while simultaneously driving up the cost of energy even MORE!
