The Pentagon has issued a sort-of-but-not-really apology to the Philippines for running a disinformation campaign against them during the pandemic. China started giving away its Sinovac vaccine for COVID-19 for free in countries in Southeast Asia. This was going to drastically cut into Pfizer’s profits, however.
Governments were supposed to sign a contract, purchase the mRNA shots from Pfizer (and Moderna), and then distribute them for “free” in a massive wealth transfer scheme from the taxpayers to Big Pharma. Fortunately for Pfizer, the US military was standing by to come to the company’s rescue!
Keep in mind that the Philippines is an American ally. We have strong economic and military ties to them and have since World War II. They’re supposed to be our friends!
We are reliably assured all the time by the White House that disinformation is the third-worst threat to democracy after Donald Trump and global warming. But when Pfizer’s profits are on the line… steps must be taken.
Right around the time of the Pfizer/Moderna COVID shot rollout, China announced the release of Sinovac. This was a real vaccine made from inactivated coronavirus cells and not the mRNA technology that Pfizer was pushing.
Even though it wasn’t a very effective vaccine, Sinovac didn’t have the horrifying side effect profile of the Pfizer death shots. Sinovac won’t make you go blind, become sexually sterilized, or suffer a spinal cord leakage or turbo cancer.
Sinovac was a real vaccine created using the principles of epidemiology, instead of an experimental medicine with unknown long-term effects.
China wanted to give Sinovac doses away for free to countries across Southeast Asia. This was a profit and PR disaster for Pfizer!
That is when the Pentagon directed its psychological operations center in Florida to go to work. They created more than 300 fake social media accounts to spread disinformation in the Philippines.
“It is true that the [Department of Defense] did message Philippines audiences questioning the safety and efficacy of Sinovac,” the Pentagon told the Philippines military in a letter dated June 25.
The Pentagon confessed that it “made some missteps in our COVID related messaging,” but wanted to reassure our allies that it stopped the propaganda operation in late 2021. The Pentagon has also “vastly improved oversight and accountability of information operations.”
Disinformation posts that were spread on social media in the Philippines—by the US military—contained gems such as, “COVID came from China and the VACCINE also came from China, don’t trust China!” and “From China – PPE, Face Mask, Vaccine: FAKE. But the Coronavirus is real.”
About 6.4% of the people in the Philippines are practicing Muslims, so the Biden administration also spread disinformation that one of Sinovac’s main ingredients was pork gelatin. This was a lie, but it was an effective one. The claim went viral and spread quickly throughout the Middle East.
The military’s non-apology confession letter was leaked to Reuters, which published the contents in a report recently. Both the Biden regime and the Philippines government have refused to comment on it.
A Pentagon spokesperson did tell Reuters that the US military “uses a variety of platforms, including social media, to counter those malign influence attacks aimed at the US, allies, and partners.”
The spokesperson also claimed that it was only responding to a “disinformation campaign to falsely blame the US for the spread of Covid-19.”
That doesn’t make any sense at all! How in the world would trashing Sinovac on social media counter that? The only explanation that makes sense is that the US military was used to try to preserve Pfizer’s profit margin. China’s offer to give Sinovac away for free was actually kind of nice compared to the scheme to transfer wealth from taxpayers to Pfizer.
You’d think that the military could have been involved in something more useful in 2021. For example, maybe surrendering Afghanistan to the Taliban that year could have used a bit more attention. Protecting the international shipping lanes through the Red Sea from the Houthis would be another worthwhile activity for the military. Or how about not starting a proxy war with Russia?
Instead, the military under the Biden regime floods our allies with propaganda, lies, and disinformation to protect Pfizer’s profit margins. That’s the definition of fascism, folks.
