Sen. Paul Pushes Back over Claims Dr Fauci Saved Millions of Lives

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul, who is also a medical doctor, blasted NIAID Director Anthony Fauci over his gain-of-function conspiracy and promised to hold him accountable over the origin of COVID-19.

Sen. Paul shared his view in a Fox News Op-Ed on Wednesday that discussed his January questions with Fauci.

“In January, I asked Dr. Anthony Fauci a pretty basic question: ‘Do you really think it’s appropriate to use your $420,000 salary to attack scientists that you disagree with?'” Rand asked.

“Given Dr. Fauci’s theatrical outburst and deflection in response to my question, I think I hit a nerve,” he added.

In an interview on Wednesday, the Senator pushed back on claims that Dr. Fauci has saved millions of lives during the pandemic. Paul said Fauci’s claims are based on an erroneous model that is inaccurate.

A new Johns Hopkins study revealed lockdowns actually did little or nothing to stop the spread of the virus. Instead, it caused tremendous harm to society, especially to children, who were in long-term isolation and have fallen behind on education.

Other nations have finally realized this as well. Did you know that Denmark and England have ended nearly every restriction? Norway, Finland, and Sweden are ending restrictions as well. Even Israel, the most vaccinated country on earth, is making plans to end vaccine passports and roll back restrictions.

But in the U.S. and Canada, you would think COVID-19 just showed up yesterday. Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has attempted to label protesting truckers a “small fringe minority,” but that fringe group has now turned to tens of thousands or more across the nation crying out for freedom.

In the U.S., many continue to push back against vaccine mandates and other restrictions. The large employer vaccine mandate was struck down. Most schools are back, though much conflict regarding masks, vaccines and other aspects remain. People are done with mandates and are ready to return to life rather than life-limiting restrictions that even our liberal political leaders don’t follow.

Paul’s Op-Ed also noted, “I do not know whether COVID-19 originated in a lab. My point is that our government’s bureaucrats brutally squashed any attempt to discover the truth of the origins of the virus because doing so conflicted with their self-interests.”

The cover up should be concerning to all Americans. We have researched and found the original source of most diseases including HIV and Ebola. So why are Fauci and others in our government attempting to hide and/or stop the public from finding out where this virus originated?

Sen. Paul concludes with strong words, saying, “I’ll continue my efforts to hold Fauci and his allies accountable. Gain-of-function research is too dangerous. When Republicans win the Senate, we will not only investigate the origins of the virus but also investigate whether or not we should be sending taxpayer dollars to do research that could have caused this pandemic.”

Instead of helping, Fauci’s recent efforts seem to be prolonging the pandemic across the nation. The Senator argues it’s not the virus that is shutting down the nation, but rather the government’s policies.
